Robert Bailey was educated at the „Longton College of Art“ in England in the 1960s. After that he turned to photography and journalism. Among other things, he made commercials for films and moderated a television program for children. Aviation has always held a great fascination for him. His first great recognition came from his oil paintings of military flight maneuvers.

THE PRIVATE COLLECTION OF GEORGE LUCAS

STAR WARS producer George Lucas saw Bailey’s aviation art website and asked him to work on STAR WARS visions. A meeting with Lucas at his „Skywalker Ranch“ marked a pivotal turning point in Bailey’s life as an artist. George Lucas was so impressed by Robert’s STAR WARS pieces that he purchased them for his private collection. Other collectors of his art: Harrison Ford, John Travolta, Tom Cruise, Linda Hamilton, Mads Mikkelsen, and the late Carrie Fisher.

ORIGINAL PENCIL DRAWINGS

Bailey’s favorite characters are C3PO and Yoda. Of course, he recreates the whole spectrum of STAR WARS characters in pencil. All his works are original drawings. Robert Bailey has now completely stopped painting in oils. In his opinion, pencil drawings can create scenes and stories much more vividly.

Robert Bailey is now a Lucasfilm recommended official STAR WARS artist.He now also draws MARVEL characters after his incredible art came to the attention of the licensor. He also recently created a series of exciting STAR TREK drawings, all hand-signed by William Shattner alias James T. Kirk.

Stan Lee, the creator of Spider Man, said of him that Robert Bailey was his favorite artist. In addition to all these films and characters, Robert Bailey has also created original drawings of Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and Indiana Jones.
